Jrue Holiday stole the show on Sunday night with his magnificent performance against the Dallas Mavericks, but what grabbed more eyes was his comment regarding Boston Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown, which was taken out of proportion.

During the post-game presser, before taking questions, Holiday clarified his earlier comment on JB, “I’ve been hearing that I prefer JB over JT, and that’s not what that was. I like to praise my teammates, I like to praise my teammates when they are playing well… To compare them is something that I would never do. Just to address the comment yesterday: I do not prefer one over the other. — I prefer both. Both of them are superstars and it’s been shown out here on the biggest stage.”

This started after Mavs head coach Jason Kidd hailed Brown as the best player on the Celtics squad; the veteran guard agreed with him by saying, “I don’t think he’s lying,” and acknowledged his contribution. Little did Holiday know that his response would be misrepresented.

Returning to his Game 2 of the NBA Finals performance, the 33-year-old received many praises. However, a particular one from an NBA analyst drew much attention.

Analyst Claims Jrue Holiday Is Better Than Damian Lillard

The Celtics were determined to crush the Mavs’ hopes in the Finals series and entered with proper plans to snatch another win at the TD Garden. Thanks to Jrue Holiday’s heroics and the teamwork of his fellow mates, the home team secured a 105-98 victory.

Many fans and experts came forward to shower the 6-foot-4 guard with the praise he deserved. Veteran analyst Skip Bayless dragged Milwaukee Bucks‘ Damian Lillard to compliment Holiday.

After digging into the Bucks’ decision to acquire Lillard in Holiday’s place, Bayless wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Jrue Holiday is a better basketball player than Damian Lillard.”

Holiday boosted the team by adding 26 points and 11 rebounds on the scoreboard. Also, he shot 11/14 from the floor and 2/4 from the 3-point range. With a 2-0 lead in the series, the Celtics will move to the Dallas arena for their third clash.
