Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons looks forward to the 2028 Olympics, but not in the way his fan base would hope.
He not only wants to see it, he wants to be there to represent his country.
Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Micah Parsons is among the NFL stars who have expressed interest in playing for the United States when the Olympics come to Los Angeles.
As the Paris Games closed on Sunday night, Parsons said he wanted to take a break from football after the 2027 season to focus on the 2028 Olympics.
“After 2027 ima take a break from football to prepare for the Olympics!” he wrote on X.
Although the Los Angeles Olympics would feature flag football for the first time ever, it isn’t exactly clear what sport Parsons would participate in.
Fans couldn’t help but make jokes at his expense:
Micah Parsons could represent Team USA in flag football if he so chooses. The sport will make its debut at the Los Angeles Games.
If he chooses to do something much safer, he could go with taking on the fastest men on the planet in the 100-meter dash.
Parsons clocked in at 4.36 seconds in his 40-yard dash at the 2021 NFL Combine.
It remains unclear if Micah Parsons is joking or serious about competing in the 2028 Olympics.
Micah Parsons’ Next Contract With Dallas Cowboys Will Set Records
Pass-rushing phenom Micah Parsons might want to put his Olympics hope on the back burner as he is quickly approaching his own lucrative record-setting deal to stay in Dallas.
His numbers could be astronomical after the Jacksonville Jaguars inked Josh Allen to a five-year, $150 million extension earlier this year, per ESPN.
That is a $30 million annual value for Allen, which means Parsons could be even bigger.
Parsons could very well see a deal that is $35-plus million in annual value.
