“He’ll Stop Him” Deontay Wilder’s Trainer Malik Scott Has No Doubt About Who Will Win Fury-Usyk Rematch

Heavyweights Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to face off again on December 21.

Their first match in May was a historic bout as it was the first four-belt undisputed fight in the heavyweight division. It was a close and competitive match, with Usyk narrowly winning on points after a decisive 9th round that saw Fury receive a standing count.

Usyk’s mental strength was on full display as he appeared to be slipping behind in the fight until that pivotal round.

Since their first encounter, both fighters have acknowledged their mistakes and believe they can perform better in the rematch.

There has been much discussion about the effectiveness of Fury’s corner during the first fight. At times, the messages from trainer SugarHill Steward, coach Andy Lee, and Fury’s father John seemed mixed. Despite this, it has been confirmed that Fury will retain the same team for the rematch in Saudi Arabia.

When ES News asked former heavyweight and current Deontay Wilder coach Malik Scott for his prediction, he confidently picked Usyk to win again.

“I go Usyk again. But in better fashion.”

Even when it was mentioned that Fury claimed he only lost the first fight because he thought it was too easy and lost focus, Scott remained firm in his belief.

“Nah, I got Usyk in better fashion than last time.”

Scott went on to predict a stoppage win for the Ukrainian champion.

“Yeah, I think he gets the stoppage. I thought this one was going to be a stoppage for Usyk, but I thought it would happen on cuts between rounds 7 and 10. It didn’t happen on cuts; it just nearly happened in a natural way.”

In the first fight, one scorecard had Usyk winning seven rounds to five, a score with which Usyk himself agreed. Whether Scott’s prediction of a stoppage win will come true or if Usyk will secure a more decisive victory on the scorecards remains to be seen.
