Darren Till is ‘begging’ for Jake Paul clash but it isn’t the fight he wants the most

Ex-UFC fighter Darren Till gets into ...

Darren Till has reeled off his hit list after winning his boxing debut.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger defeated Palestinian MMA fighter Mohammad Mutie via second-round TKO at Social Knockout 3 on Saturday night.

Till wants his next fight to be a big one

But his win was overshadowed by a mass brawl that erupted after the contest.

Mutie claimed that the shot which had resulted in the stoppage had hit him on the back of the head and was infuriated that Till hadn’t been disqualified.

In protest of the decision, Mutie charged across the ring and threw a kick at Till as all hell broke loose.

In the immediate aftermath of the heated altercation, Till took to the mic and called out Jake Paul, Tommy Fury and Mike Perry.

Till has been campaigning for the Paul fight ever since he stated his intentions to make the transition from MMA to boxing and has come under fire from fans who claim he is ‘begging’ for the opportunity.

Addressing the critics during an appearance on the MMA Hour on Tuesday night, Till said: “This makes me laugh so much.

“Sometimes the trolls and other people say ‘You’re begging for a fight with Jake Paul’.

“Well, wouldn’t you beg for a fight with Jake Paul? I know I would beat Jake Paul, I’d knock him flat out but the guy trains hard, he’s put in a lot of commitment and a lot of effort.

“He’s actually changed a few people’s lives around like Amanda Serrano.

“So this narrative that ‘You’re begging for a fight, you’re a guy who challenged for a title and now you’re begging for a fight with a YouTuber’.

“Well, wouldn’t you mate? You’re going to make so much money… Obviously, me and every other fighter would beg for a fight with Jake Paul.

“So if that’s what you want to call it then we are begging. He’s the face.”

Although he is keen to duke it out with Paul, it isn’t the fight he wants the most.

More than anything, Till is desperate to get his hands on ‘The Problem Child’s’ next opponent, Perry.

Asked what his ‘top choice’ would be for his next fight, Till replied: “This is quite mad because it should be Paul but I just want to smash Perry in.

“I just want to get that little midget and give it to him. It’s probably Perry, Paul’s there, Masvidal and Tommy Fury is a huge fight in the UK, you could do that anywhere. You could even do it at Anfield.”

Perry and Till have been embroiled in a bitter feud since their UFC days.

Even though they both competed in the welterweight division at the exact same time a fight was never booked as Till was always competing at a higher level than ‘Platinum’.

But in boxing, they are on a far more even playing field, with Perry having established himself as one of the best bare-knuckle boxers on the planet since leaving the MMA’s premier promotion in 2021.

Perry is set to face Paul on July 20 after the YouTuber’s clash with Mike Tyson was postponed until November 15.

Once that fight is in the books, a boxing grudge match with Till makes a lot of sense.
