Cameras caught a mic’d up Caitlin Clark delivering an urgent message to Angel Reese and her teammates during the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday.
The on-court rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has been a top storyline in sports over the past year. It all started at the end of the 2023 women’s basketball national championship game, when Reese taunted Clark after leading LSU to a 102-85 victory over Iowa.
Regardless of how Clark and Reese feel about each other personally, the two showed fans during Saturday’s All-Star Game that they can put any differences aside and flourish on the court together.
Clark and Reese led Team WNBA on a 117-109 victory over Team USA at the All-Star Game on the weekend. Reese recorded a double-double (12 points and 11 rebounds) in her WNBA All-Star debut.
During the game, cameras caught a mic’d up Caitlin Clark screaming “Go go go” to Angel Reese and the rest of her teammates after Team USA made a basket. Clark then dribbled her way to the hoop before setting up Reese for an easy two:
Clark had four points, 10 rebounds and two steals in the Team WNBA victory. Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale finished with a game-high 34 points. New York Liberty standout Breanna Stewart led Team USA in scoring with 31 points.
Clark & Reese Try To Rally Their Clubs Into The Postseason
WNBA teams are now on a three-week Olympic break. So Clark and Reese will get some valuable rest time before they resume their respective postseason pushes.
The Indiana Fever occupy the No. 7 seed with a record of 11-15, while Reese’s Chicago Sky are holding onto the final playoff spot with a 10-14 record. Indiana and Chicago are both three games clear of the Atlanta Dream, who are on the outside looking on.
The Sky will return to the court on Aug. 15 with a home tilt against the Phoenix Mercury. A day later, Indiana will host Phoenix in their first game followingthe Olympic break.
