The WNBA’s historic season is currently on pause since July 17th, as many of its stars pursue Olympic gold in Paris. With the women’s basketball competition concluding on August 11th, the WNBA will resume action on Thursday, August 15th, with teams gearing up for the final push toward the playoffs.

Each team has approximately 15 games left to secure one of the eight coveted playoff spots.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, who is in a tight race with Caitlin Clark for the Rookie of the Year award, has been capturing attention off the court during the Olympic hiatus.

Known as the “Bayou Barbie” during her college days, Reese has rebranded herself as the “Chi-Town Barbie” since joining the Sky.

She recently shared her vacation in Turks and Caicos, an island near Cuba and Dominican Republic, on Instagram, sporting a white Chanel bikini while cruising on a hot pink Onyx Charters JetCar, which closely resembles the iconic Barbie car.

Unlike Clark, Reese enjoys the spotlight, making appearances at high-profile events like the MET Gala, NBA games, and the Olympics, as well as stepping on stage at concerts.

At just 22 years old, she’s making the most of her rising fame, with more to come as her career progresses.

Angel Reese’s Stellar Rookie Season

Reese has been making waves on the court as well, setting a WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles.

During this streak, she averaged 15.3 points and 13.2 rebounds per game, helping the Sky stay in the playoff hunt.

Currently, Reese is averaging 13.5 points and ranks second in the league with 11.9 rebounds per game, playing 31 minutes per contest.

As the WNBA prepares to resume, the Sky are set to face the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, August 15th, at 7:00 PM EST.

With Reese leading the way, Chicago will be looking to secure their spot in the postseason as the race to the playoffs intensifies.
