Boston Celtics superstar reveals his past of hating Boston and loving the Los Angeles Lakers for an extremely simple reason
Recently on TNT, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum had an airing session with former player Quentin Richardson. The audition wasn’t too special until Tatum revealed to his seniors the fact that he used to hate the Boston Celtics where he was playing. The reason for this is extremely simple, Tatum is a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jayson Tatum is a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers
“Maybe everyone knows I’m a long-time fan and I’m lucky to be with Kobe Bryant. I’ve always followed the Lakers since I was a kid. That’s why I hate the Boston Celtics so much. My dream that day was nothing but to wear the purple and yellow jersey of the Lakers,” Jayson Tatum shared.
Not stopping there, Tatum continued to reveal more interesting details for the TV audience. He said: “I used to hate the Celtics so much that I didn’t know where Boston was anymore. I can only bear the trough that the city is located in the East. I didn’t want to go there at all.”
But in life, no one can learn the word doubt. Jayson’s dream team since childhood was the one that missed him when he chose to take the Lonzo Ball right in front of Tatum in turn. Then, as an arrangement of fate, the Boston Celtics brought in Jayson Tatum in the third round of the 2017 Draft.
Fate chose the Boston Celtics as where Jayson Tatum belongs
“That Draft night was crazy. I used to hate Celtics, but now I’m giving back to this team. I think everything in the world has its reasons. I feel like I’m doing very well,” Tatum shared his feelings when he was selected by the Celtics.
Before the new season, Tatum reached an agreement to extend his contract with the Boston Celtics for 5 years for $195 million. This means that he has not had the opportunity to go to the promised land of Los Angeles to join the Lakers overnight.
