Fan casting of Reacher’s Alan Ritchson as Batman has been gong strong lately

Although we currently have a separate universe where Robert Pattinson is playing a worthy Batman, DC head huncho James Gunn already expressed his intention to do a complete reboot of the live action universe. This means that Pattinson will continue playing the same character on his own and we will eventually get a new Bruce Wayne cast for the new projects helmed by Gunn.

Since he took the entire project, DC fans have fan casted many great actors to be the new Bruce Wayne. One of the names that kept popping up is Reacher’s Alan Ritchson, who recently made his intentions known and threw his claim for the role to the ether. Now we know he has also been thinking about it and would jump at the chance to audition for the role.

Would Alan Ritchson be a good Batman?

Out of all the different iterations of Bruce Wayne over the years, Alan Ritchson would be by far the most muscular and massive. In a sense, casting him as the new Batman would be the most comic-book accurate version of the character. Not that other great actors like Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, or Robert Pattinson haven’t been great versions.

But Ritchson brings an entirely new take with his combat skills on film, his role as Reacher is proof of that. Also, he was Hawk in the Titans and Supergilr television series and he was great as the Hank Hall character. If James Gunn starts considering new actors for this pivotal role, Ritchson is a no-brainer.

Saying that doesn’t mean he would 100% get the role, there are so many different actors to choose from. But in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Alan Ritchson figured he would shoot his shot to James Gunn. As expected, the statements from him were viral in a matter of minutes.

Here is what he said in a recent interview: “I would like to play Batman. There I said it! I’ll shout it from the rooftops. I want to be Bruce Wayne! Here’s the thing about Batman. You know wht his super power is? Intelligence. Dude is the smartest superhero there is. He’s inventive and he’s got all the gadgets but he’s super smart. I want to be that guy and also have a cave with super cars and also motorcycles.”
