Chicago Sky forward and former LSU Tiger Angel Reese just wanted to talk about how prepared she was for the WNBA, but in doing so, she may have set her alma after up for possible violations.

The Chicago Sky rookie thought she was ahead of the curve when she arrived in the WNBA, thanks to her work at LSU.

“I think my transition has been great,” Reese said. “It hasn’t been a super big huge surprise because Kim Mulkey kind of prepared me for this moment.

“At LSU, our practices were like 4 hours,” Reese continued. “We were ready. We were working. I thought (WNBA) training camp was going to be harder.”

The “practices were like four hours” comment caught the attention of many, and others began to speculate that the Tigers were violating rules behind the scenes.

NCAA bylaws state you are allowed a maximum of four hours of athletic activity per day.

LSU assistant coach Gary Reedus saw all of the hoopla surrounding Angel Reese’s comments, so he took to X, formerly Twitter, and called out his former player for what she said while clarifying things before an investigation started.

Reedus stated, “We don’t practice four hours every day, But you leave LSU prepared! #GeauxTigers.”

His response prompted Reese to jump on and say, “not everyday BUT SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER USED TO HAVE ME DEADDDD but look at me now, i guess it was all worth it.”

The work she did with the Tigers certainly helped her transition to the pros. The talented rookie is averaging 12.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game for the Chicago Sky this season.
