In a recent interview with Brian Scalabrine on NBA TV, Boston Celtics star player Jayson Tatum was asked about comparing the challenges they faced against the Miami Heat to their struggles against the Dallas Mavericks. In response, the Celtics forward mentioned that playing both teams is always easy for him.

Brian Scalabrine: “You guys have been on a lot of hard-fought trips to Miami, was this one a little sweeter?”

Jayson Tatum: “They’re always easy.”

The Celtics played against the Heat in the first-round series of the NBA playoffs. Boston won the first game, but Miami made a comeback in game two at TD Garden. However, the Celtics amazed everyone by winning three straight games against the Heat and eliminating them from the series.

Jayson Tatum played consistently throughout the season, delivering back-to-back dominating performances. The 26-year-old Celtics forward averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 74 games this season. In the 2024 playoffs, he averaged 25.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in 19 games.

One of the key contributors to the success of the Celtics is Jaylen Brown. According to StatMuse, the 27-year-old Celtics forward averaged 23.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 19 games during the 2024 playoffs. His outstanding performance led to him being named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and winning his first NBA Finals MVP award.

Tatum achieved great success during the season. Before the end of game five against the Mavericks, Tatum surpassed the legendary Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. Tatum became the player with the most playoff points at 26, moving ahead of Kobe.
