This Morning’s Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard couldn’t believe what one fan admitted.

During their regular phone-in with agony aunt Deidre, one called opened up about her relationship with her mother-in-law who was overstepping the mark. On Tuesday, Deidre and a team of family counsellors had been drafted in for longer than normal, with the team staying on the phones until 3pm, rather than the calls ending when the show ends.

But one caller left Deidre, Cat and Ben horrified when she revealed what her husband’s mother had done with her five-month-old child. During the phone-in, one caller who used the pseudonym Sarah as she opened up about her mother-in-law overstepping the mark on several occasions.

‘Sarah’ explained that she had decided to feed her five-month-old daughter pureed food as she continues to grow. “I found out she was giving her pizza,” she explained leaving Cat and Ben visibly shocked by the revelation as they both looked at one another in disbelief.

‘Sarah’ went on to add: “I’ve asked her not to take her to places and we’ll find that she’s taken her on a two-hour round trip in the car with her. There’s lots of different issues really.” “That is really tricky,” responded Deidre as she added: “My mind is boggling,” as Ben interrupted saying: “Giving a five-month-old pizza?!”

Cat explained: “She must be sucking it, I guess?” as Deidre encouraged ‘Sarah’ to speak to her partner about his mother. Fans on x, formerly known as Twitter instantly flocked to the micro-blogging platform to share their thoughts on the situation. “Giving a five-month-old pizza?! Sorry what #thismorning.”

“Why would you give a five month old pizza!? #thismorning,” said a second. Meanwhile, a third went on to type: “Pizza’s great and all – but at 5 months old?! #ThisMorning.” A fourth angered viewer penned: “Weirdly this happens. My son was only 7 months old and we found out his nursery had given him pizza, mash and beans. We went f****g apes***t #ThisMorning.”
