LOVE Island fans branded Joey and Grace ‘fake’ after they acted devastated when Samantha was axed from the show.

The Scouser was the only person left standing alone by the firepit when the Islanders faced a shock recoupling ceremony.

Because all the others found a partner and she was left single, Samantha got evicted from the villa.

But viewers were fuming after the very people who were the reason she had to leave pretended to be heartbroken that she was gone.

Samantha had previously been dating Joey Essex before she got into a love triangle when his ex Grace came in as a bombshell.

The pair dated for six weeks earlier this year and still harbour feelings for one another.

Although audiences at home initially thought Samantha was overreacting when she refused to share a bed with Joey after he showed initial signs of turning his head, she turned out to be right.

Grace and Joey quickly rekindled their romance, and seemed to be firmly back together within three days of the new girl entering the villa.

With the budding relationship between her and Joey no longer on the cards, Samantha was left single, leading to her eviction.

Despite being aware that he was the reason she had to leave, the former TOWIE star made a big show of being really sad when Samantha walked out.

He appeared to blink back tears and then hid his head in his hands as one of the boys came to comfort him.

Grace also seemed upset when speaking to her man about Sam’s exit.

Viewers did not buy the emotional displays for a second, taking to social media to blast the pair.

One wrote: “Nah watch Grace play the victim with Joey now because she’s sensed that she’s come across as the bad guy!”

Another rolled their eyes at “Joey and this GCSE drama acting”.

A third asked: “What opportunity did you want Joey?? Can we wrap up the fake act already!”

Someone else chimed in: “Joey stop lying you didn’t care about her.”
