First he was supposed to fight Mike Tyson, but that bout was pushed from July to November because the former champ is recovering from an illness. Then came news that Paul is set to use the original fight date – Saturday, July 20 – to face Mike Perry in an eight-round cruiserweight bout at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The event is billed as “Fear No Man” and will be available via DAZN pay per view.

Paul, who was raised in Westlake, is 9-1 with 6 KOs. Perry – a bare-knuckle boxer and MMA star – is 5-0, 3 KOs BKFC.

Last week SportsBetting.ag posted a line for the bout, with oddsmakers favoring Paul at -190 and Perry a +160 underdog.

But by Friday, the line had shifted, with bets flooding in on Paul. The odds moved to Paul -240 and Perry +190, according to SportsBetting.ag and BetOnline.ag. FanDuel had Paul opening at -250 and Perry at +200.

Early odds on the Paul-Tyson fight had Paul a heavy favorite. That fight is set for Friday, Nov. 15, but odds will shift depending on what Paul does vs. Perry and any reports of Tyson’s health.
