Aloys Junior believes Mike Tyson will be stopped if his fight with Jake Paul goes ahead later this year.

Tyson is set to astonishingly return to the ring aged 58 to take on 26-year-old Paul in a sanctioned professional bout on November 15, his first since retirement in 2005.

There are justifiable health concerns regarding Tyson, given he suffers from sciatica, and was already forced to withdraw from their original date after suffering an ‘ulcer flare up’.

And British cruiserweight prospect Junior, who has been compared to Tyson given his ferocious punch power and 100 per cent KO ratio, believes it is an uphill battle.

“I think he may get stopped to be honest with you,” Junior told talkSPORT.com.

“He is just too old, your body has declined too much at that age.

“It is not good for his boxing legacy, especially if he gets stopped like that by Jake Paul.

“I wouldn’t want to see that at all but who knows, he was one of my idols.

“If the fight ever happens we don’t know, I just wouldn’t like to see that.”

In his prime, Tyson carried ferocious power which saw him reign as undisputed champion in his prime.

But despite showing off his dynamite punching in new training footage, it seems like a tall order to progress beyond Paul who is in his physical prime.

Many believe that Paul will simply have too much for Tyson given their age difference, and his own power increase with intentions to bulk back up to around 230lbs.

But despite worries for his fitness and health, Roy Jones Jr, who fought Tyson in an exhibition in 2020, insists his power is very much still menacing and will cause Paul problems.

Jones Jr said: “Mike Tyson still the strongest puncher that I’ve ever been in the ring with. Ever.

“At 55 at the time, now I think 57 might be 58, he’s still the strongest puncher. First time he hit me in my chin I feel like a mule had kicked me in my chest.

“If he’s at 230lbs that can make it very interesting. Jake’s not going to fight close, and he can’t stay away from him cause Mike will close the gap too quick.

“I thought I could stay away from him, I couldn’t – and I know I’m better at staying away from people than Jake is. That’s why Jake put the weight on, cause he knows he’s not gonna be able to stay away from him.

“He’s hoping he’ll be muscly enough to push him backwards and keep him off him, but he won’t be able to stay away from him.”
