Perry wants to see the whole event implode before it gets off the ground.

Despite many people’s wishes, the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was not fully canceled following Iron Mike’s ulcer flare-up. Instead, it was postponed until November.

With Paul needing to stay in shape and in form over the next few months, Mike Perry stepped in to fight Paul on the original July 20 date. Perry is a former UFC fighter who has followed up with a 5-0 start to his bare knuckle boxing career.

Mike Perry plans to ruin Jake Paul’s dream

“Platinum” is a bit of a wild one, so this could be a dangerous fight for Paul. In fact, Perry is hoping to KO Paul in order to stop the Tyson fight from ever happening, which he revealed in an interview with Michael Bisping.

I’m trying to ruin that whole thing for him, see if they offer it to me after I knock Jake out and be like, ‘Hey do you want to fight Mike Tyson on Netflix?’ That’s the real win here, if I can stop that, but I don’t want it to hurt Mike’s pockets either.

Perry feels that a fight against Tyson is a lose-lose regardless of who’s in there fighting the 58-year-old.

I don’t want to be an a****** either and I could go in there and move around with him and if Mike can’t knock me out which I don’t know, he might be able to hurt me pretty good and then I’ll be the bad guy if I do good against the old guy.

But it’s clear that Perry took the Paul fight just for the opportunity to blow up his future plans. That should make for an entertaining fight on July 20.
