MMA fighter Mike Perry has confidently declared that he will triumph over Jake Paul in their upcoming boxing match, stepping in as a replacement for Mike Tyson. The much-anticipated fight between internet sensation Paul and former world heavyweight champion Tyson was postponed due to the veteran experiencing a medical issue during a flight in May.

The rescheduled bout with Tyson is now set for November 15, but Perry will face off against Paul on the original date of the previously planned fight. The showdown is scheduled for July 20 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, and both fighters seem eager to put on a thrilling show.

Paul’s decision to step into the ring with Perry four months before his bout with “Kid Dynamite” could be seen as a risky move, potentially impacting both his reputation and physical condition. It’s clear that there’s no love lost between Paul and Perry, and the middleweight bare-knuckle fighter is unlikely to make things easy for the 27-year-old later this month.

In a recent interview on Sean O’Malley’s YouTube channel, Perry revealed that he’s already considering his next opponent after his fight with Paul. Confident of defeating “Problem Child”, he admitted: “I’m not gonna lie, man, I’ve been thinking about, when I beat up Jake, like, that’s the call out for me.”

The MMA fighter Mike Perry has a clear target in sight, challenging Alex Pereira and dismissing other potential opponents with sheer bravado. “I want to throw hands with Alex Pereira. Because who the […] else is there for me to throw hands with, bro? He’s just clocking everybody left and right,” he declared confidently, intensifying his challenge with a bold proclamation: “I wanna show, hey, look like I got skills with the hands department.”

Brushing off rumours of a bout with UFC legend Yoel Romero, Perry focused his taunts on Jake Paul, negating any possibility of such a matchup: “No man. That’s my guy. I love Yoel. I mean, listen, I’ve trained with Yoel, we’ve thrown some punches at each other. I mean, […], I might take the Mike Tyson fight from Jake.”

Perry didn’t hold back in showing disdain for Paul during their heated exchange during a video call on The MMA Hour, setting the stage for a high-stakes duel. With undisguised relish, he boasted, “I know Mike Tyson says everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face but I like getting punched in my face. So my plan is coming together nicely.”
