Oleksandr Usyk has declared that he is happy to fight Anthony Joshua for a third time.

The heavyweight king became undisputed champion by twice beating AJ and then conquering Tyson Fury this year, and now seemingly has little left to do in the sport.

Usyk is set for a contractually obligated rematch with the Gypsy King on December 21.

After that, many boxing fans expected him to retire from the sport.

However, the Ukrainian has insisted he will fight on.

When asked who he will face in future, Usyk told Mail Sport: “I don’t particularly want any rematches, but when we beat Tyson Fury for the second time and when Anthony Joshua beats Daniel Dubois, of course they will want to do a third fight.

“From my point of view I have no right to deny Anthony a third fight because he gave me two incredible fights.

“Anthony helped me become even more famous in the world. Anthony did it.

“And if it happens with God’s help, then I am ready for a third fight with Anthony.”

Regarding what he’s seen from AJ in the four fights since their rematch, Usyk said: “He has improved a lot psychologically.”

Pushed for a prediction on if Joshua will beat Dubois, Usyk confidently replied: “Of course.

“It’s an Olympic champion and a UK champion – Anthony is a different level.”

The first fight between Usyk and Joshua came about when negotiations between AJ and Fury fell through in 2021.

The Ukrainian was WBO mandatory challenger and so forced a shot at Joshua’s three belts – he also held the WBA and IBF at the time.

In September 2021 at Tottenham Stadium, Usyk baffled the champion and dethroned him with a comfortable boxing performance.

11 months later in their rematch, he had a much tougher task.

A renewed Joshua pushed Usyk close in August 2022 in Saudi Arabia.

In the end though, Usyk came on strong in the final few rounds to take a split decision victory.

He has since beaten Dubois and now Fury to become undisputed.

Meanwhile AJ has been on the comeback trail with two uninspiring wins over Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius, followed by far more convincing victories against Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

Usyk vacated his IBF heavyweight world title after beating Fury, setting up a clash between Dubois and Joshua with the belt at stake.

Should AJ win as Usyk expects, a trilogy fight between them would once again unite all four belts and crown an undisputed champion.
