Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese could’ve stayed with the LSU Tigers for one more year, but she opted to come out because she wanted to face a new challenge in her basketball career.

The Chicago Sky are struggling to string wins together, but Angel Reese’s confidence has not been deterred.

Reese thought she was ahead of the curve a bit when she arrived in the WNBA thanks to the work she put in at LSU. She even told CBS Sports HQ that Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey “kind of prepared me for this moment.”

She added she “thought training camp was gonna be harder.”

“I think my transition has been great. It hasn’t been a super, big, huge surprise because Kim Mulkey kind of prepared me for this moment. At LSU, our practices were like four hours. We were ready, we were working, I thought training camp was going to be harder. So, I think I was really prepared. I didn’t have, like, any WNBA surprises yet,” Reese said during an interview with CBS Sports.

A ton of fans did not appreciate her comments about the league and quickly blasted Reese for what she said:

The Chicago Sky might be under .500, but Reese has been quite the bright spot. Through eleven games played, she is averaging 12.4 points and 9.6 rebounds. Reese has also posted a double-double in each of her last four appearances.

She hasn’t been perfect and certainly has room for improvement. She is only shooting 37.8 percent from inside five feet of the basket, and with her size, she has only registered one block on the year.
