During a recent episode of the “Skip Bayless Show,” popular sports columnist Skip Bayless made bold statements about the father-son duo of LeBron and Bronny James from the Los Angeles Lakers. Bayless suggested that Bronny might possess a more significant clutch gene than LeBron, particularly when it comes to making three-pointers. He highlighted Bronny’s performance in a McDonald’s All-American Game, where Bronny hit several impressive three-pointers in crucial moments.

“I think Bronny will be pretty good. I think he’ll become a clutch three-point shooter. I’ve always gotten the feeling that Bronny had a bigger clutch gene than his father does. McDonald’s game. He was in the spotlight, and they went to him late two or three times, and he just nailed threes.” Bayless said.

After much speculation, the Lakers finally selected Bronny as the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft. However, the spotlight on Bronny didn’t stop there, as NBA analysts and fans continued to talk about him, with some praising and others criticizing. Most recently, Bronny faced heavy criticism from NBA fans following his selection by the Lakers, with fans accusing him of nepotism and suggesting that he was only picked because of his father.

Bayless Cheers on Bronny James’ Lakers Deal, Calls for Immediate Starting Spot

Bayless further praised Bronny for signing a guaranteed contract with the Lakers and suggested he should start for the team instead of going to the G League. The 19-year-old guard has been under much pressure and scrutiny, and Bayless expressed his admiration for Bronny, believing he is even stronger than King James.

“Bronny signed, sealed, and delivered now with the Lakers. He’s on a guaranteed Laker contract there’s no G League involved here. He’s going to be on the Laker roster, as I said from day one, and he’s going to play fairly significant minutes fairly quickly. I don’t know how many that’ll be, and I am a Bronny fan. I think Bronny is built even tougher than his father is because Bronny’s been through a lot in his life, in the harshest spotlight any kid could ever be thrust into as LeBron James Jr. I love how Bronny’s handled this.” Bayless added.
