The NY Knicks would have been a much more prosperous side with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh added to their roster. Yes, the Miami Big 3 were supposedly on their way to New York before landing on the Heat. However, their one move ruined the plan as explained by former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas.

Recently, Agent Zero made a big revelation on his “Gil’s Arena” show, which raised the eyebrows of many NBA fans. He said that when the three stars were free agents they decided to join forces and play together in the same team, the Knicks. However, as no one was aware of their plan, the Knicks’ chairman James L. Dolan, made a “mistake” trading in former player Amar’e Stoudemire for five years, which restricted the cap space.

“They didn’t want to play with Amar’e Stoudemire because they had they own Big 3. So, because New York f—– it up, they called Micky [Arison] and say, ‘Hey, Micky. This is what we wanna do. Can you make it happen?’ And then made it work,” said Arenas.

LeBron, Wade and Bosh moved to Miami in 2010 and the rest is history. They had a successful tenure there, winning two championship trophies together, and while the other two found their new homes, Bosh ended his career at the Heat.

Besides disclosing past incidents, Arenas laid his insights on the Summer Olympics and the uncertain future of Kawhi Leonard in Team USA.

Gilbert Arenas talks about Kawhi Leonard’s Olympics future

Team USA announced their flashy lineup for the Paris Olympics, which has the top veterans along with younger talents. However, there could be a potential change in the roster as LA Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard is not fully fit for the team. But Gilbert Arenas has a different view.

Discussing the topic on his podcast, the former Wizards guard said, “I see both of them [Joel Embiid & Kawhi Leonard] playing because they won a Gold. Are they going to be playing at a very high level? No need to… it was so star-studded. I don’t need Embiid and I don’t need Kawhi but I have em. I have guys that are just as talented and better to come in and sub in if they’re not playing very well. That is the point of star-studded.”

There have been talks going on about a probable replacement for the Clippers swingman. Arenas suggests that he should be taken as a sub because of his past international achievements.

No confirmation has been made by the team yet. But Kawhi needs to be up and running to appear for the training camp early next month.
