The latest episode of SmackDown emanated from a sold-out Madison Square Garden in New York City. As such, WWE capitalized on the location and invited the New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson to the show. Moreover, the Point guard was involved in an intense face-off with none other than the Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton. Following the showdown, Triple H reacted to Brunson’s appearance on the blue brand.

The WWE CCO took to X and expressed his gratitude toward the 27-year-old. Triple H noted that Brunson provided the fans in the MSG arena with a “highlight”-worthy moment. Prior to the men’s triple threat MITB qualifying match, Logan Paul introduced Haliburton, who accompanied him to the ring. While making his way to ringside, he faced off with Brunson and seemingly talked trash to him.

During the bout, The Maverick called for Haliburton to pass him the brass knuckles. This prompted Jalen Brunson to jump over the barricade and confront the Pacers’ star. Further, the two NBA stars were separated by officials, which distracted Paul. In the closing sequence of the match, LA Knight rolled up his rival to advance to the MITB Ladder Match.

The chaos didn’t stop there, as Paul and Haliburton teased a 2-on-1 attack on The Megastar. However, they were once again stopped by Brunson, who brought a steel chair into the ring. Therefore, the United States Champion and the Pacers’ point guard backed away. Meanwhile, Knight raised Brunson’s hand to a thunderous ovation to end the enthralling segment.

After punching his ticket to Toronto, LA Knight spoke with Kayla Braxton backstage about his massive win. The Megastar insulted Logan Paul and Tyrese Haliburton before heaping praise on Jalen Brunson. The latter reflected on his WWE appearance at MSG, claiming that it was a “dream come true” for him.

When asked about how he felt about Knight, Brunson hilariously said he would reveal that later. The former TNA star then gloated about his win tonight as he felt confident going into next week’s PLE. In addition to qualifying for Money in the Bank, the 41-year-old star also pinned the United States Champion.

Amid their ongoing rivalry, this certainly means that this won’t be the last time the pair square off inside the ring. Whether or not Knight walks away with the briefcase will be captivating to see. However, the veteran will most likely be facing Paul for the US title at SummerSlam, with the former vying for his first championship in WWE.
