With three Whammies, David chose to “press his luck,” which landed him one more that booted him out of the game.

“Oh!” Elizabeth, 50, exclaimed as she slammed on her host podium.

David also addressed his fellow players immediately after seeing the Whammy highlighted on the board.

“Good luck guys, good luck guys, I’m out,” he said.

“David’s game is over tonight. That is a heartbreaker,” Elizabeth added.

Players Timothy and Dr. Ashley continued playing, with Timothy ultimately landing in the bonus round.

After a whirlwind of spins and Whammies, Timothy ultimately left the game with $50,000.

REVIVING A CLASSIC

The revived game show, with The Hunger Games star as its host, started in 2019 and premiered its Season 6 on July 18.

The original show premiered in 1983 and ended in 1986 after only three seasons.

Elizabeth said she had always been a huge fan of Press Your Luck and used to watch the show growing up, per ET.

The actress even “cried in the shower” after her first day hosting the revival because it meant so much to her.

Throughout the game, three contestants compete by answering general knowledge questions.

Their correct answers are turned into “spins,” where players can either win cash and valuable prizes or land on a dreaded Whammy that wipes out their bank.

The player with the most earnings at the end heads into the bonus round.

BIGGER AND BETTER

Last month, the beloved game show saw one contestant break a record set by Michael Larson in the 1980s.

Dylan, a personal trainer, avoided a Whammy in his final spin and left the show with $152,233.

In 1984, the unemployed driver memorized the board’s patterns and secured a $110,000 win.

The large sum was also a record for the highest amount won on any game show at the time.

“How does it feel to have won more money in our frontgame than anyone else in Press Your Luck history!?” Elizabeth asked Dylan.

After admitting to living in his friend’s basement, Dylan said he was looking forward to buying a house.

“This is lifechanging,” Dylan’s wife said from the crowd.

“He’s the most deserving person I can think of, I’m so so happy.”
