Following Risacher’s selection, the Washington Wizards drafted Alex Sarr as the No. 2 pick on Wednesday night. This move was somewhat expected, especially after Sarr opted not to participate in workouts with the Atlanta Hawks.

Despite the anticipated nature of Sarr’s selection, NBA fans have expressed discontent with the draft outcome.

Many are particularly upset with the Hawks’ decision to pass over Sarr in favor of Risacher at the No. 1 spot. Some fans have labeled Risacher as the worst No.1 pick while some claimed him as a potential draft bust.

Disgruntled supporters have called to urge the team’s ownership to consider selling the franchise.

Alex Sarr Claims Him as the Best Player in the 2024 NBA Draft

Despite the initial hype around him potentially being the number-one pick, Alex Sarr’s decision to forgo the Hawks’ workout didn’t impact his standing significantly.

Sarr did not elaborate on his decision to skip Atlanta’s workout, but he seemed confident and expressed satisfaction with being selected by the Washington Wizards.

Before the draft, a reporter asked him why the Hawks should consider him as their number one pick.

In response, Sarr confidently asserted his capabilities, claiming him the “best player” in the draft.

“Because I’m the best player in the draft. I can play a lot of positions, offensively and defensively. I can guard all the different positions,” Sarr said.
