Manny Pacquiao Has No Doubt Who The Best Fighter In The World Is

For many years, Manny Pacquiao, affectionately known as ‘Pac-Man,’ was universally hailed as the best fighter in the world. Throughout his illustrious career spanning 72 professional bouts, Pacquiao has squared off against numerous stars, securing world titles in an unprecedented eight weight divisions. His remarkable achievements include significant triumphs in the welterweight category.

Recently, Pacquiao shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated clash between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. for the undisputed welterweight championship last July. In an interview with Seconds Out, the 45-year-old boxing legend offered his perspective on the outcome of the fight and issued a challenge to both competitors.

“That fight, if there’s a rematch, the same thing happens, but I’m willing to challenge both of them,” Pacquiao declared confidently.

When asked to specify the weight class he would compete in against Crawford, Pacquiao decisively responded, “147,” affirming his readiness to face off in the welterweight division.

Despite Crawford being a fixture atop many pound-for-pound lists, Pacquiao was asked who he considers the best fighter on the planet at the moment. Without hesitation, he named the Japanese sensation, Naoya Inoue, who has made history by becoming one of only three male boxers to achieve undisputed champion status in two weight classes during the four-belt era.

“For me, it’s Inoue,” Pacquiao stated, acknowledging Inoue’s formidable prowess.

At 31 years old, Naoya Inoue has cemented his reputation as a fearsome puncher and a four-division world champion. With an impressive record of 24 knockouts in his 27 victories, Inoue remains undefeated, and few challengers seem capable of posing a legitimate threat to his reign. His return to the ring is eagerly anticipated on September 9 this year, with TJ Doheny emerging as a leading contender for the bout.

As for Pacquiao, he has not fought since his unanimous decision loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. Despite his hiatus from the ring, he continues to be linked with potential matchups against notable names such as Conor Benn, Amir Khan, and even entertained the idea of competing in the Paris Olympics, although he was ultimately ruled out due to age restrictions. Most recently, discussions have surfaced around a potential fight with Mario Barrios.

Pacquiao’s enduring passion for the sport and his willingness to challenge the top fighters of today underscore his indomitable spirit and legacy as one of boxing’s all-time greats. As fans eagerly await his next move, the boxing world remains captivated by the ongoing exploits of both Pacquiao and the formidable talents he continues to inspire.
