Marquez ended his career in 2014 with a record of (56-7-1).

‘Dinamita’ fought the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Marco Antonio Barrera but it comes as no surprise when he named the greatest fighter he faced as the legendary, Manny Pacquiao.

The Mexican faced ‘Pacman’ in an epic rivalry of four fights scoring a brutal KO win over his long-time rival in 2012.

Speaking to The Ring on the best fighter he came up against he said: “Pacquiao. Without doubt, the best pound-for-pound of his time and I faced him at his best.”

“He is great at closing his defense, he has a good guard and it is very hard to land (a clean punch). After four fights with him, I was able to know him better. I also learned his mistakes. In all the fights I had, nobody hit me harder than him (Pacquiao).”
