It’s official… Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica are empty nesters after sending off their son Shepherd off to college this weekend.

And in a rare move the normally very private couple snapped a number of photos of their last moments together before the teenager is truly on his own for the first time.

‘3rd and final launched,’ Jessica Seinfeld, 52, captioned the first of five photos they shared on her Instagram page.

The first image show Shepherd standing in between his parents, who are just absolutely beaming with pride as they all stood inside a room together, presumably at his university.

It turns out the teenager, who turns 19 on August 22, is following in the footsteps of his two older siblings: Sascha, 23, and Julian, 21, by attending Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Making the weekend more of a festive feel, the couple decided to do ‘brunch before move-in’, which was documented with a photo of the trio sitting in an outdoor patio area.

Jessica (born Nina Danielle Sklar) looked summer ready in black shorts with a white button-down that she tied into a bow just above her waistline.

The cookbook author had her long blonde tresses pulled back off her face and into a loose bun, with the exception of some strands of hair she left dangling around the frame of her face.

Her husband, 70, sat next to her in his blue Polo-style shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers, while his salt-and-pepper hair was cut short.

Older sister Sascha was on hand for her brother’s big living transition weekend, as seen when the family went out for ‘hot wings’ dressed casually in light blue sweatpants, a white sweater crop top and white sneakers.

After wearing black shorts with a white t-shirt and sneakers, Shepherd changed into a gray tee when they stepped out that night.

His parents couldn’t resist getting playful with their smoked brisket meals as they sat on the side of a street while on campus in North Carolina.

Both of them held out their plates of brisket for all to see, all while laughing and smiling.

It appears the legendary stand-up comedian is becoming sort of a regular at Duke University considering that he recently gave the commencement speaker for the class of 2024.

And that’s after spending time on the campus during the years that Sascha and Julian attended the university.

Feeling proud on the career front, Jessica would also take some time out to share a screenshot of the 100% Tomatometer of approval the documentary Daughters received on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Oyster Bay, New York native served as an executive producer for the film, which dropped on Netflix on August 14 after having its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

Directed by Natalie Rae and Angela Patton, Daughters follows four young girls who are preparing for a special Daddy Daughter Dance with their incarcerated fathers, as part of a unique fatherhood program in a Washington, D.C., jail.

‘Last night we celebrated the release of @daughtersdocumentary on @netflix with a screening for friends,’ she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. ‘The sobs (and laughs) were audible, as our audience took a heartfelt roller coaster ride with the brave and beautiful incarcerated fathers and their daughters in our film.

Thanks to everyone for your voice messages and texts today. I am overwhelmed by your love and support of this film. I appreciate all of you who are posting too.’

Seinfeld concluded, ‘Deeply love our film team @natalieraerobison @sistah_angela @girlsforachange @chad_m_morris @lydiakives @kathryneverett @laura__choi @xtr and many more.’

The couple first met at a Reebok Sports Club in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in August 1998.

‘I was going through a difficult time, and I was approached by Jerry Seinfeld and he attempted to make me laugh, and I was really not interested in being entertained at that moment,’ Jessica told The New York Times during a 2007 interview.

‘He came around again and said something funny, and I actually had to laugh.’

It turns out Jessica had only just gotten married earlier that year to theatrical producer Eric Nederlander, but soon after there was talk of problems within the homestead.

Eventually, about a year later, they started to date after she split from her husband and got a divorce within the same calendar year of their nuptials.

Ultimately, the couple got engaged in November 1999, which led to them tying-the-knot during a ceremony on Christmas Day, December 25 of that same year.

Almost a year after getting hitched, Jessica and Jerry welcomed their first child, Sascha.

It would be nearly three years until they would welcome their second child together,  Julian, who was followed by Shepherd in August 2005.

Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld will be celebrating their milestone 25th wedding anniversary this coming Christmas Day, December 25.
