The Boston Celtics have shown absolute dominance over the Dallas Mavericks in all three games of the 2024 NBA Finals series. However, there was a turning point in Wednesday’s game when the latter almost caught up with the Eastern team, but thanks to the Boston aces, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s clutch moments helped the franchise with their third win.

While talking to the reporters in the post-game press conference about holding back the Dallas team, Brown said, “We’ve been in those positions before and we’ve lost. So it was great to overcome that with my brother Jayson and the rest of our team.”

The game started with the Mavericks in the lead, but the Celtics cut the deficit to a point by the end of the opening half. In the second half, the Cs took over, disappointing the American Airlines Center crowd. They entered the fourth quarter with a 15-point lead but were taken aback by the home team attacks.

As the game was approaching its final minutes, Brown successfully drew a foul on Mavs guard Luka Doncic with 4:12 remaining, sending him off the court. Despite Kyrie Irving’s hard work, the night ended in a 106-99 win for the Celts.

After all the criticism, Tatum finally found his rhythm in Game 3 and executed a marvelous show, adding 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists while Brown continued his dominance.

Jaylen Brown Keeps His Domination Going

After bagging the ECF MVP, Jaylen Brown is certainly eyeing the NBA Finals MVP besides the Larry O’Brien Trophy. His consistent performance is proof of that.

Brown has been phenomenal throughout the playoffs and stepped up for the team whenever needed. Game 3 against the Mavs was different. Apart from removing their biggest threat, Luka Doncic, from the court, he had an outstanding impact on the game.

Playing alongside his “brother” Tatum, Brown helped outscore the Mavs by chipping in 30 points coupled with 8 rebounds and assists each.

The 27-year-old is doing a commendable job by averaging 24.3 points in the series while maintaining his shooting skills at 55.1% from the floor.

Brown’s consistency and teamwork have brought the Celtics an inch closer to the championship trophy. A single win would set them apart from all the other teams in the league, and they would want to make it possible in the next game on Friday.
