He is 14 NBA All-Star and is yet to make his debut with the new version of the Dream Team in the preparation games for the French event.

Kevin Durant is one of three seniors, alongside LeBron James and Stephen Curry, expected to play for the United States in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

However, the two-time NBA Finals MVP has had his preparation disrupted due to a calf injury. He practiced with his national team teammates for the first time on Friday.

Thus, ESPN reported that KD is doubtful for the next two games, including Saturday’s match against South Sudan (Which he didn’t play in) Team USA’s preparation for the Olympics, which will begin on July 27.

However, barring any unexpected setbacks, the 14-time NBA All-Star is expected to compete in his fourth Olympic games, after helping his country win gold in London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, and Tokyo 2020 (held in 2021 due to the pandemic).

“You always have those concerns, but I see progress every day. It’s one of those things you have to monitor daily and see how you feel after certain movements and exercises. I have to keep working and see what happens,” Durant told the media outlet.

If the current sharpshooter for the Phoenix Suns recovers in time for the start of the Paris event, he will join Kerr’s starting lineup for the United States. If not, his progress will determine when they can fully rely on him.
