Former Loose Women panellist Carol McGiffin has responded after So Solid Crew’s lead singer Lisa Mafia clashed with the presenter, branding her a “rude a**hole”.
Lisa Maffia didn’t mince her words when she called out Carol McGiffin as “a rude a**hole” during a candid podcast appearance.
The “21 Seconds” singer criticized the former ITV *Loose Women* panellist on the *Livin’ Lavida Loca* podcast, calling her “rude” and suggesting her relationship with a younger man had gone to her head.
When asked about the “worst celebrity she’s met,” Lisa said, “Oh, I know this one. She was an original *Loose Women* panellist, such an a**hole. Was it Caroline?”
The host of the social media show, Lavida Loca, clarified if she meant Carol McGiffin, to which Lisa confirmed: “Yeah. That’s it, McGriffin or Griffin, little flippin’ gruff, billy goat gruff. Nah, she was rude. I will tell you as it is, don’t try me.”
Carol first met her husband back in 2008 when she was 48 and he was just 26 – before tying the knot in a secret Bangkok ceremony in 2018.
The broadcaster was previously married to TV and radio presenter Chris Evans having tied the knot in 1991 but separated three years later. Their divorce was finalised in 1998.
Carol, who appeared on the ITV programme on and off since 2000, has blasted Loose Women and “doesn’t miss being on the show”.
She announced in May she had left the lunchtime show, protesting ITV insisted she sign a contract with clauses that were “totally unjust and unworkable”.
Following her exit, she told Women’s Own magazine: “No, I don’t miss Loose Women at all. My pronouns are P and Off. It’s just very woke and I can’t deal with the wokeness.
“That’s not why I am not there. I am not there because of other stuff.”
Carol added she misses her co-stars but “doesn’t miss being on TV”.
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
