The United States face Jokic’s Serbia in the basketball semifinals in Paris, France
APOne of LeBron James‘ old Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers‘
teammates predicts him to destroy the Denver Nuggets‘ Nikola Jokic at the 2024 Olympic Games to secure a medal for Team USA.
The Americans, inspired by James and Kevin Durant, are undefeated through four games and booked their place in the final four with an easy 122-87 victory over Brazil at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris.
Nikola Jokic trades the luxury of the NBA for a humble court in Serbia
Stever Kerr‘s team won the first, second and fourth quarter by 12, 15 and 12 points as they flexed their dominance and even in the dropped third quarter, they only lost four points from their advantage.
Now they face a tougher test though in the form of the NBA’s MVP and Denver Nuggets‘ star, Jokic after the Serbians also booked their progression with a narrow 95-90 overtime win against Josh Giddey‘s Australia.
Despite the reputation, Channing Fyre doesn’t expect Jokic to offer much of a test and doesn’t see anything else other than James and the USA “blowing Serbia the f**k out” on their way to the championship game.
“I don’t think Serbia’s gonna medal,” Fyre added to The Road Trippin’ Podcast. “I think Germany gets bronze.
“France gets silver and America wins the gold. Everyone wants to see France vs. USA. That’s what the f**k we want to see.”
Fyre is perhaps buoyed by the last time Team USA faced off against Serbia as they won a comfortable 110-84 match to claim the victory by 26 points with James and Durant combining for 44 of them.
When do Team USA play Serbia?
Team USA will play Serbia on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris with the game tipping off at 21:00 CET, translating to a 15:00 ET/12:00 PT start for those on the East and West Coasts of the United States respectively.
