This evening a major trade has gone down that will send Nashville Predators prospect goalie Yaroslav Askarov to the San Jose Sharks.

New reports are coming out from Elliotte Friedman today that the San Jose Sharks have managed to pull off a trade to acquire goalie Yaroslav Askarov from the Nashville Predators. Barry Trotz has made the move to send away the disgruntled goaltender to a new situation.

With the trade now finalized it has been revealed that the main player coming back in return to the Nashville Predators is former first-round pick forward David Edstrom and a 2025 first round pick. Yaroslav Askarov, Nolan Burke, and a third-round pick for a 2025 first-round pick, David Edstrom and Magnus Chrona is the full trade.

The move comes on the heels of Juuse Saros’ extension with the Nashville Predators which blocked Yaroslav Askarov’s path to playing time.

Yaroslav Askarov is considered one of the best goalie prospects in the sport. As a former first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft Yaroslav Askarov has not gotten much of a chance at the NHL level playing just 3 NHL games. In the AHL Yaroslav Askarov has proven that the hype is justified last season he had a 2.39 goals against average and a 0.911 save percentage.

At just 22 years old Yaroslav Askarov will now likely get the opportunity to become the starting goalie for the San Jose Sharks. Once more details are released regarding the return in this trade we will continue to update you on all the latest news.
