New York Mets play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen couldn’t help but poke fun at New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the baseball club’s Wednesday night game against the Miami Marlins.

Aaron Rodgers missed the Jets’ mandatory minicamp without a specific explanation, but head coach Robert Saleh said that he and the 40-year-old quarterback “are on the exact same page”, per ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

During Wednesday’s game between the Mets and Marlins at Citi Field, Cohen destroyed the four-time league MVP by simply asking if he’s under the couch of close friend and ESPN analyst Pat McAfee:

“Is he like under Pat McAfee’s couch or something?”, Cohen asked with a chuckle:

Aaron Rodgers made weekly appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show”, but he was taken off in January after suggesting that talk show host Jimmy Kimmel was on the client list of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Kimmel called out Rodgers on X/Twitter and threatened to sue him. McAfee later stated that the future Hall of Famer would not appear on his program for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season.

Rodgers has made headlines over the past two years by endorsing baseless conspiracy theories and floating misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines and misinformation.

Aaron Rodgers Is Gearing Up For Second Season With Jets

There was plenty of hype and excitement around Rodgers and the Jets entering the 2023 season. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn Achilles just minutes into his New York debut and had to miss the rest of the year.

Without Rodgers, the league’s longest active postseason drought extended to 13 years. They finished 7-10 and recorded a losing season for the eighth consecutive year.

The Jets have added offensive linemen Morgan Moses, John Simpson, Tyron Smith and star wide receiver Mike Williams to bolster the offense around Rodgers. The AFC East club will open their 2024 season with a “Monday Night Football” contest against Rodgers’ boyhood team, the San Francisco 49ers.
