Another year, another Super Bowl championship ring ceremony for Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s been four months since the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58 to secure their third title in five years. With the victory, Kansas City also became the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots.

The Chiefs were awarded their Super Bowl 58 championship rings on Thursday evening. The team posted a video of the shiny new rings which feature 529 diamonds and 38 rubies:

The side of the ring shows the “BACK-TO-BACK” message, with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers abbreviations. The side also shows the Super Bowl 58 logo that reads “OVERTIME 25-22”, a reference to the final score of the big game.

The inside of the ring also notes the years 2019, 2022 and 2023, references to the Chiefs’ three Super Bowl championship-winning seasons in the Mahomes-Andy Reid era:

The Chiefs’ victory over San Francisco cemented them as a 21st-century dynasty. They join the New England Patriots (they won six Super Bowls over 18 seasons from 2001 to 2018) as the only NFL franchises to achieve the status as a dynasty in this millennium.

Kansas City Chiefs Open 2024 Season vs. Baltimore Ravens

No team in NFL history has ever won three straight Super Bowl championships, but the Kansas City Chiefs will try to become the first team to hit the historic feat here in 2024.

Kansas City’s quest for a third straight title will begin on Sept. 5, when they welcome reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the annual NFL Kickoff Game at Arrowhead Stadium.

The 2016-18 New England Patriots are the last team to have played in three straight Super Bowls. With a daunting schedule and history against them, the Chiefs face long odds of returning to the big dance.

Then again, the Chiefs were quickly written off by many during the up-and-down 2023 regular season. And we know how that ended up.
