When a rookie first joins an NFL team, there is always some hazing ritual, whether it’s carrying veterans’ pads, rookie dinners, or the always popular rookie talent show.

With the Chicago Bears being the featured team on “Hard Knocks” this year, almost every moment of their training camp is filmed. That includes the rookie talent show to introduce the new teammates to the veterans.

Usually, there’s a slew of funny and sometimes impressive performances, but for the Bears this year, Theo Benedet stole the entire show.

The native Canadian from the University of British Colombia wanted to show appreciation to his American teammates by singing his own rendition of God Bless the USA.

The singing, however, was horrible, and many of his teammates were clearly not enjoying the performance until about halfway through, when he ripped off his tear-away pants to reveal a speedo with a bald eagle and American flag on it.

At that point, everyone watching went crazy as Benedet continued singing, though it was drowned out by applause and cheering. Once it hit social media, it became even more popular.

By the end, it became obvious that Benedet had delivered one of the greatest “Hard Knocks” moments in its history.

“Hard Knocks: Training Camp With The Chicago Bears” Has Produced Several Big Moments

While it is usually a fan favorite among NFL fans, this year’s “Hard Knocks” is particularly interesting because of the situation of the Chicago Bears team.

Much content has revolved around rookie sensation Caleb Williams, from fans getting mad at him for wearing what looked like a purse to seeing his progression from college football to the NFL.

Now, whether or not you’re a Bears fan, this series is a great way to gain better insights into the everyday ins and outs of a struggling NFL franchise.
