Ezekiel Elliott (Photo via MLFootball/Twitter)
Ezekiel Elliott is undoubtedly not the same Zeke that he used to be.
We are all finding that out once again during training camp with his second go-round with the Dallas Cowboys.
This week, the coaches had players going through the football gauntlet, which is a way for them to secure the football while being hit from all sides.
Ezekiel Elliott was carrying two footballs when he decided to do it, and the gauntlet seemed to win on this day.
While running through it, Elliott screamed out in pain, dropped the footballs, and then dropped his hands to his knees as he tried to regain himself.
It is unknown if he was injured, got hit in a sensitive area, or just father time has caught up with him.
Either way, social media couldn’t believe how far Ezekiel Elliott had fallen since his glory days at Ohio State and his first few years with the Cowboys.
After a year away from the team that drafted him, Ezekiel Elliott signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.
The team posted a photo of Elliott signing the paperwork on his new deal with the Cowboys, which will reunite him with Dak Prescott and many others.
Many things have changed since Elliott has been gone, and the biggest one is his being the type of workhorse running back that he used to be.
Ezekiel Elliott Returns To The Cowboys After Career-Low Season
Ezekiel Elliott put up career lows last season.
The 29-year-old signed with the Patriots last August after seven seasons in Dallas and was brought to Foxboro to play behind Rhamondre Stevenson as the second running back on the depth chart.
The former No. 4 overall pick finished with a career-low 642 yards and three touchdowns, which came on the fewest carries of his career, 184, per ESPN.com.
