The name of a former NFL quarterback came up during Donald Trump’s criminal trial on Tuesday.

Trump has made history as the first former United States President to face a criminal trial, and it’s already prompted an NFL first as the name of a former player has also come up.

According to Tyler McBrien of LawFare.com, Stephanie Clifford, A.K.A Stormy Daniels, mentioned former Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger in her testimony on Tuesday, claiming the ex-POTUS introduced her to Big Ben at a golf club in Nevada.

Clifford recalled Trump introducing her as “his little friend Stormy.”

“Daniels says Trump was in the club with his friend, Ben Roethlisberger, and Trump introduced her as “his little friend Stormy” to “Big Ben” the football player, who let her try on his Super Bowl ring,” McBrien tweeted during the testimony. “Trump continued to talk about getting Daniels on The Apprentice.”

This isn’t the first time Clifford mentioned Roethlisberger. She wrote in her 2018 book that Trump had asked the two-time Super Bowl winner to walk her to her hotel room and that he requested a good night kiss.

She also claimed he stayed outside of her room and knocked several times, asking her to “come on” before he finally left.

“I was terrified,” she wrote. “I am rarely terrified.”

Why Donald Trump Is In Court

Donald Trump is on trial because he stands accused of falsifying business records to hide money he paid Clifford to keep quiet about their one-night affair with him before the 2016 presidential election.

Meanwhile, Roethlisberger was sued for sexual assault by Andrea McNulty in 2009 following an alleged incident at an annual golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. He did not respond to requests for comment on the claims in the book after it was published.
