Jimmy Butler complained about Heat fans to Camila Cabello

The fans of the Miami Heat team are essential parts of ‘Heat Culture.’ Their loud energy, incredible support for their players, and equal hostility to the opponents make them one of the most dedicated fandoms in the NBA. However, it’s not all love between the fans and their star Jimmy Butler. The team’s main man has some complaints about fans arriving at home games.

Jimmy Butler recently did a Q&A for Complex with American singer and songwriter Camila Cabello. During the interview, the 34-year-old complained about his beloved Miami Heat fans. The star revealed having issues with the fans’ punctuality as they are more likely to arrive late for games. Butler wants the fans cheering from tipoff.

The worst part to me, our fans never show up on time… I'm just like damn. I wanted to be rockin from like the jump ball.

Camila Cabello hilariously blamed Miami’s Latin side, considering she is a Latina herself. The singer explained that Miami fans were late because most were Latin. However, Butler genuinely seemed disappointed by the fans, as he expected them to do more. Butler is one of the most competitive players in the NBA. Hence, it is not surprising that the star wants the fans to be more committed.

Over the years, even when LeBron James was a part of the team, the fans had issues with the city’s heavy traffic to reach the arena. The fans never fail to sell tickets for each game, but they have been getting punctuality complaints for more than a decade now. It was only time for someone to call them out.

Kendrick Perkins called out the Heat fans for empty seats

Long before Butler complained about the issue, analysts had called out the Heat fans for empty seats at the Kaseya Center. Earlier this season, the Heat were in a do-or-die situation. The team had to perform in the play-in tournament to secure a spot in the playoffs.

The team was facing the Chicago Bulls at their home court, but the game started with many empty seats. This did not sit well with analyst Kendrick Perkins as he called out the fans during halftime. The fans’ lack of support during crucial times disappointed the former player.

I'm just a little disappointed in the fanbase of the Miami Heat. It's too many open seats.

Perkins was not wrong, as the team was down by ten points after the first half, and the players needed all the support they could get. However, more seats were filled for the second half, as revealed by ESPN’s broadcaster Ryan Ruocco. That must have helped as Miami defeated the Bulls to move to the playoffs.
