Future so bright he’s gotta wear champagne goggles
There’s gonna be a lot of money in the coffers for Derrick White to get those teeth fixed.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Derrick White has agreed to a four-year deal that will see the former Colorado Buffalo earning $125.9M.
White’s last contract with the Spurs was a four-year/$70M after his initial four-year contract for just over $8.5M.
Some on social media stated it was a lot to play for a “role player,” but those of us who have watched White’s career since his 2017 drafting know he is and has always been more than a role player.
White was an integral piece of the Spurs attempt to rebuild after the Big 3 era, he has thrived as a part of the Boston Celtics.
Considering Jayson Tatum just signed the biggest contract in NBA history, the five year/$314M deal will ensure the Celtics have the best opportunity to go back-to-back or even three-peat.
Best to do it now, Derrick, because your former team is coming for y’all in the not-so-ditant future.
Congratulations, Derrick, you’ve earned it!
