Shaquille O’Neal apologized to Drake for ‘BBL Drizzy’ story

One of the main topics surrounding pop culture is the rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The give-and-take between the two rappers involved many famous personalities, including NBA players. Just a few days ago, Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal also joined the beef as he trolled Drake on his Instagram. However, considering the reaction from fans, Shaq seems to be regretting his post.

Being on Lamar’s side, American producer Metro Boomin has a diss track called BBL Drizzy about Drake. Shaquille O’Neal posted an edit of him and Drake on his Instagram stories and added the track. The internet was in splits as they thought Shaq was trolling Drake, but the veteran cleared the air. Shaq apologized to the rapper during a recent episode of The Big Podcast.

So. Drake, I apologize. I should have put 'Who was this?' on there. Because I don't want you to think I did that... I thought it was funny, hopefully you thought it was funny too. But once it went viral I definitely took it down. So my bad, Big Drake.

Many assumed that O’Neal edited and posted the picture to roast Drake. However, that was not the case at all. Netizens made the photoshop, and Shaq posted it simply because he found it funny. Hence, the four-time champion felt the need to apologize for any misunderstandings.

O’Neal certainly has no issues with Drake, as he has supported the rapper previously. Drake is known for being a basketball fan and for his antics during games. As many have had problems with his behavior, O’Neal saw the situation as a marketing move. It is safe to say that O’Neal has nothing personal towards Drake.

Shaquille O’Neal gave an idea to Drake and Kendrick Lamar to settle the beef

O’Neal has been a part of the beef for a long time. TNT even played Lamar’s diss track Euphoria during Inside the NBA broadcast at the time of playoffs. But considering O’Neal’s personality, the star wanted the beef to end long before that, as he suggested both rappers for settling the beef.

During another episode of his podcast, O’Neal stated that the rappers should ‘WWE it out.’ The star wanted Drake and Lamar to come face to face and battle to win the beef. Being a rapper himself, Shaq told Lamar and Drake to do a show to settle things for good.

If they were smart, they would WWE it out. Like, ‘Hey, I’m gon’ say something, you say something, then we gonna come out do a show.

The rappers have certainly not taken the veteran’s advice, as both of them dropped multiple diss tracks after that. O’Neal undoubtedly had fun, but the star surely does not want to be a part of it, considering his immediate apology.
