Rising stars around the NBA will likely prevent the Boston Celtics from winning multiple NBA championships, but one dominating center stands above the pack.
In modern NBA discussions, GOAT debates, ring culture, and absolutes have become the go-to talking points for most NBA media to circle around. Is LeBron James the greatest player ever? Is Victor Wembanyama the greatest rookie ever? Is a budding team on the verge of being the next great dynasty?

The Celtics have a solid group of players, headlined by a starting lineup featuring Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porzingis. They certainly look poised to make another run next year, but back-to-back Finals wins does not a dynasty make.
On Fox’s First Things First, Chris Broussard outlined why Boston’s current team won’t be remembered as a dynasty. He thinks that the parity in the NBA right now does not lend itself to repeat champions, but there is also a single force hovering above the NBA, waiting to take over the league.
“There’s another reason they won’t be a dynasty. Here comes Wemby! How soon? How soon?!”
The Spurs are likely not going to be in championship conversations next season, but between their cap space, draft picks, and the outright desire players have to play next to Wembanyama, the Spurs can easily build a great team around their French sensation.
For now, the Spurs will draft young talent, develop the players they already have, and then attempt to win as many games as possible for the foreseeable future, as the cornerstone of the franchise arrived last season.
