The Saint-Louis Blues announced that they have hired Claude Julien as a member of their coaching staff.

In breaking news, Julien is set to come back in the NHL after being fired from the Montreal Canadiens in the 2020-21 season.

The team also confirmed that they’ve promoted Steve Ott to associate coach. They’ve also extended his contract until the end of the 2025-26 season, and did the same thing with assistant coach Mike Weber and goaltender coach David Alexander.

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the team has promoted Steve Ott to associate coach and extended his contract through the 2025-26 season.

In addition, the Blues named Claude Julien an assistant coach and extended the contracts of Assistant Coach Mike Weber and Goaltending Coach David Alexander through the 2025-26 season.

Julien will bring his vast experience to the Blues as they look to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2022.

At 64 years old, Julien spent almost 20 years in the NHL, coaching the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins. In Boston, he won a Stanley Cup in 2011 and a Jack Adams award in 2009.

He also worked with Team Canada on the international scene on multiple occasions.
