As numerous companies part ways with former Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect, the 49ers have decided to make their own decision.
According to SFGATE, the San Francisco 49ers have confirmed that they will no longer work with him.
“We take these developments seriously and will not be working with him going forward,” the team told the outlet.
In 2022, the 49ers had Dr Disrespect present one of their draft picks. Herschel “Guy” Beahm was also featured in a “Sunday Night Football” promo that aired ahead of a Niners-Broncos matchup later that year.
Most recently, he even fired up the ceremonial foghorn before the 49ers’ wild-card round matchup against the Seattle Seahawks in 2023.
Dr Disrespect was one of Twitch’s top streamers before being suddenly banned in 2020 without a formal explanation.
Dr Disrespect, or his real name, Herschel “Guy” Beahm, was exposed after two former Twitch employees revealed the events that led to his removal from the platform.
One former Twitch employee, The Verge, that Beahm had used Twitch’s now-defunct messaging system, Whispers, to exchange several messages with a minor. He went as far to initiate a hookup.
Dr Disrespect Speaks Out Amid Minor Allegations
Companies began cutting ties with Dr Disrespect after allegations surfaced that he was trying to meet up with a minor, which led to his banishment from Twitch in 2020.
When it comes to the streamer’s connection, he had tons of them, and now they are disappearing overnight.
Doc broke his silence about his mysterious ban from the platform four years ago, writing that he had sent “inappropriate” messages to a minor.
Herschel “Guy” Beahm released a lengthy statement Tuesday on X, confirming that in 2017, he had conversations with a minor “that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate.”
