Royce White, a former Houston Rockets pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, is going insanely viral for the wrong reasons this year.

The failed NBA star is trying his hand at politics these days, and things are not going well as The Daily Beast is exposing him for spending thousands of dollars in campaign funds at strip clubs and on luxury items.

The report says White had just lost his 2022 Minnesota congressional primary, so he decided to turn his frown upside down by sending out more than $1,200 in donor funds to an all-nude strip club in Miami, Florida.

“At five in the morning one week after Republican Royce White lost his 2022 Minnesota congressional primary, his campaign shelled out more than $1,200 in donor funds to a vendor 1,800 miles away not typically associated with political expenses—an all-nude strip club in Miami, Florida, called ‘Gold Rush Cabaret,’” the report states. “That is just one among dozens of outlandish but previously unreported payments that The Daily Beast has identified from White’s 2022 Federal Election Commission filings. Several campaign finance experts characterized some of the expenses as potentially illegal spending.”

Despite the findings, White maintains his innocence, stating, “If the FEC wants to fine us, that’s completely fine, there are much bigger scams with political campaigns,” he told The Daily Beast.

One expert told the Daily Beast that Royce White could find himself behind bars as a result of his actions.

“This looks a lot like the kind of thing that people go to jail for,” campaign finance law expert Brendan Fischer said.

These days, White plays in the Big3 league, most recently as a co-captain with the Power for the 2023 season.

Royce White Faced Court Actions Over Unpaid Child Support

Royce White, a former NBA player, won the state Republican Party’s endorsement at its convention last month.

However, the George Floyd protest leader and former college basketball star-turned-right-wing Senate candidate in Minnesota found himself trending when he was ordered to catch up after he fell behind on court-mandated child support payments.

According to court filings obtained by NBC News, this went down at least six times from 2020 to 2023.

The father of four was also twice found in contempt of court over the findings. According to the report, he remains in “constructive contempt,” facing the ongoing threat of a 180-day jail sentence should he again fail to keep up with the payments.

His next hearing has been set for October 21, which is two weeks before the election.
