According to the recent reports by Matt Moore of Action Networks, The Memphis Grizzlies, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, and New Orleans Pelicans are expected to show interest in the Atlanta Hawks Center Clint Capela.

“No one knows who Atlanta is taking with the No. 1 pick (and The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie reported he doesn’t believe the Hawks know yet). However, as the Hawks debate how to reshape their team going forward, changes — but not a complete teardown — are expected. In particular, the Hawks are expected to trade one of Trae Young or Dejounte Murray, but not both. They’ll keep one to build around. Clint Capela is a popular trade target, with the Grizzlies, Wizards, Pelicans, and Bulls having expressed interest.” Moore wrote.

Capela’s tenure with the Hawks is in question

The 30-year-old center was chosen as the 25th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets. Capela, recognized for his strong rebounding and shot-blocking skills, has been a key player for the Hawks, excelling as their top rebounder and a crucial part of their defense. However, as the Hawks aim to build around their young core and possess the first overall pick in the upcoming draft, they may consider trading Capela.

The team’s long-term strategy and the upcoming draft pick will likely significantly impact Capela’s future with Atlanta. Amidst swirling trade rumors, the certainty of Capela’s tenure with the Hawks is in question, presenting financial and strategic challenges to the team’s roster development efforts.

It seems like the Hawks are looking to make some changes to their roster. Reports suggest that they might consider trading their two point guards, Dejounte Murray and Trae Young, during the upcoming offseason. Despite being All-Stars, it appears that their performance has not met expectations. NBA insider Bill Simmons mentioned this potential move in a recent podcast, noting that insiders have informed him about the Hawks’ trade targets.
