Earlier this year in March, U.S. President Joe Biden caused a stir on the internet after announcing his plans for imposing a wealth tax on the world’s super-rich, called the “Billionaire” tax, in his manifesto for his second term campaign. However, Biden’s efforts to increase taxes on the wealthy didn’t sit quite well with veteran cornerback Marlon Humphrey.

Since President Biden gave the tax proposal, it has been a constant topic of debate. The Baltimore Ravens star cornerback also joined in the queue of people opposing it. He did not shy away from expressing his conservative-leaning views via a social media post on X.

Here Biden go studdering about tryna tax the rich folks more.

Biden’s proposal targets America’s affluent class and imposes a 25% tax on those with wealth exceeding $100 million. This was also included in the President’s 2024 budget as a way to handle the decade-long debate on accounting for the wealth of the uber-rich class of people.

The two-time Pro Bowler’s opinion on the wealth tax instigated a lively debate on social media, where some fans supported his stance, and others accused him of not empathizing with the struggles of average Americans.

Regardless, Humphrey’s political opinion underscores the growing trend in the world of sports, where numerous athletes are using their platforms to express their opinions on various political and societal issues.

Marlon Humphrey responded to claims that he’s “overrated”

The veteran cornerback is known for his outspoken nature, whether be it politics or the NFL. Earlier this week, he made headlines for calling out Bleacher Report for enlisting him in the list of the most overrated players at various positions in the NFL. He specifically mentioned the name of the publication while responding to it, during his Punch Line podcast.

As I sat there, I was like, I was hurt last year. So, I didn't really lock up anybody last year, so just get daggum healthy and lock some people up. But that list ain't bad. But why you cooking me? … Bleacher Report, I got to get it back in blood, it is what it is.

Coming from a serious foot injury, Humphrey logged the lowest stats of his professional career last season. But now as he has recovered, the cornerback is aiming for total domination in the upcoming season with the Ravens, as they aim for the Super Bowl trophy.
