Rapper Yung Gravy hits back with screenshots of messages to Hawk Tuah Girl after she claimed he asked her on a date

Yung Gravy has spoken out after Hawk Tuah Girl claimed that she declined his offer to go on a date.

Hawk Tuah Girl – whose real name is Haliey Welch – found internet stardom earlier this year after that video of her giving some NSFW bedroom advice went viral.

From being invited on stage at a Zach Bryan concert, to throwing the first pitch at a New York Mets baseball game – it’s safe to say that Haliey has been reaping the rewards that have come with her newfound fame.

She now boasts a staggering 2.3 million Instagram followers, one of whom seems to be rapper Yung Gravy.

Evidently a fan of hers, Haliey claimed Yung Gravy slid into her DMs and asked her out – but she politely declined.

Speaking to TMZ recently, Haliey revealed: “He wants to take me out on a date. I was like, ‘Nah I don’t know about that.'”

Now Yung Gravy has shared a screenshot of their Instagram exchange dating back to July 31.

One of his messages, shared to Twitter, read: “Damn I just looked at ur page and u realy out here doing this s**t lol congrats b [sic].”

He continued in a second DM: “When i went to find ur page i was fr just tryna salute u for being a certified top champ.”

“This aint just me trying to finesse cause idk ur mans situation,” the rapper went on. “But i wanted to have u at a show next month to hear my country s**t.”

Alongside a screenshot of the messages he posted on Twitter, Yung Gravy claimed that you ‘can’t be nice anymore’ implying that he wasn’t asking Haliey on a date but was just inviting her to his concert.

Haliey has since responded to the screenshots with her own screenshot of their Instagram exchange and pointed out that the rapper (real name Matthew Raymond Hauri) messaged her first.

“Close but no gravy,” she tweeted.

The plot thickens…

Yung Gravy’s dating life has often been a topic of conversation, particularly when he briefly dated Addison Rae’s mom Sheri Easterling – who is 17 years his senior.

The rapper took Sheri to the VMAs as his date back in 2022 a month after the then-26-year-old had started speaking to her over DMs.

Their romance was only short lived though, with the pair going their separate ways a few months later.
