Aaron Rodgers is getting dragged by New York media following the revelation of his unexplained and “unexcused” absence from the Jets minicamp this week.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh disclosed that the veteran quarterback did not report for minicamp, which is mandatory, on Tuesday because of a previous commitment.

Given that he already missed all of last season due to injury, Rodgers isn’t getting much love from fans online, while papers in NY are directing some heavy criticism his way.

The New York Post has accused A-Rod of being “full of hot Aar” while the New York Daily News branded him “Aaron Dodgers.”

Aaron Rodgers Accused Of Feeding Jets His Baggage Without The Brilliance

The Post’s Brian Costello has written an article claiming the Jets have gotten the full Aaron Rodgers experience except for what really matters.

Costello points out that Rodgers has yet to throw a touchdown or influence a win, with the Jets getting all his baggage and none of his brilliance.

“Look, Rodgers missing two practices in June is not going to have any effect on how many games the 2024 Jets win. But it is the optics of the situation,” Costello notes. “There are 31 other teams with their starting quarterbacks at minicamp. Rodgers has embraced being all-in with the Jets since the trade and this is the first sign that something else is more important.

“It is also just another part of the “Aaron Rodgers Experience” in which he creates more headlines than a tabloid editor.”

It’s easy to speculate when you have no idea what’s going on with someone. But, to be fair, Rodgers hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory with the media.

This sort of thing should be expected.
