Four players, notably Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, Dillon Dube, and Carter Hart were arraigned earlier this year for their participation in the 2018 WJC scandal.

With these player’s fates still unknown, NHL insider Frank Seravalli has opened up and revealed their fates at the current moment:

“Right now, the Flyers, Flames and Devils are in limbo. If pressed, they are all unlikely to issue qualifying offers to retain the rights of these players. However, the judicial process has not yet begun, and all four have proclaimed their innocence through barristers and are owed due process. All [three] teams are hoping that the NHL will step in and take the issue out of their hands, which could allow the teams to retain their rights without the need for qualifying offers pending the judicial process and, of course, any potential league discipline that might follow.” – Frank Seravalli

Of the bunch, former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart was the most prominent name in the league, making nearly $4-million annually.

Hopefully these players will pay the price needed for their horrible actions. We will see what is next for these four players, and the teams that once employed them.
