NFL fans are offering plenty of heartfelt messages for Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love following his life-changing announcement.
On Instagram, Jordan Love announced that he became engaged to girlfriend Ronika Stone during their vacation in Italy. Love posted several photos of the engagement with the caption, “First step to forever💍❤️.”
Football fans were saying the same thing about Love’s engagement announcement: That a second ring (a Super Bowl championship ring) may be on the way as he looks to build off his phenomenal 2023 breakout season:
Several of Jordan Love’s teammates and Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud also shared congratulatory messages following the news:
After sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for three years, Love took over as the Packers’ starting quarterback in 2023. The four-time league MVP was traded to the New York Jets just ahead of the draft, opening the door for the 2020 first-round pick to emerge as the new franchise QB in Titletown.
In his first season as Green Bay’s starting QB, Jordan Love threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. The magical run continued with a blowout win over the second-seeded Dallas Cowboys on Wild Card weekend, marking the Packers’ first playoff victory in three years.
The Packers narrowly upset the heavily favored and eventual NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round, losing a heartbreaker 24-21 after Love threw a late interception.
Jordan Love & Packers Open 2024 vs. Eagles
Green Bay will kick off its 2024 campaign on Sept. 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo. This will be the first NFL game in Brazil, with Philadelphia designated as the home team.
After playing in Brazil, the Packers will fly home and meet the Indianapolis Colts in their home opener at Lambeau Field. Green Bay will be looking for its first victory against Indianapolis since 2008, when Rodgers upset MVP Peyton Manning and the visitors 34-14.
