The New York Giants are making a running back signing to bolster their backfield ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

There will be more competition for carries where the team is concerned, as they are bringing Jacob Saylors in following his stellar season in the UFL.

Multiple sources are reporting that Saylors is signing with the team after working out with them last week, with his agent Ray Haija believed to have conveyed said information.

The 23-year-old finished his UFL campaign second in rushing yards with 460 on 94 carries, having played for the St. Louis Battlehawks this year. He added five rushing touchdowns and three receiving TDs in nine games.

Saylors also led all running backs in receiving yards and scores.

The RB went undrafted last year after playing at Tennessee State, where he rushed for 3,851 yards and 33 touchdowns in 51 games over five seasons.

He earned roster spots with the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons but has yet to play in the NFL.

The New York Giants Have Offered Jacob Saylors A Significant Opportunity

Saylors’ recent campaign with St. Louis proved the injury that led to the Falcons releasing him in January is no longer a problem and he will be looking to show how valuable he could be with the New York Giants.

Devin Singletary is expected to be the main back for the G-Men following Saquon Barkley’s exit in free agency. Eric Gray, Jashuan Corbin, and rookies Dante Miller and Tyrone Tracy Jr. also feature on the roster.

Still, Saylors has an opportunity to earn a shout for significant minutes next season as long as he can remain healthy.
